Tonight's homework is Lesson 25 Homework questions 2-4.
Tonight's homework is to complete Lesson 23 Homework. Students should be thinking about patterns (like the ones place is even or odd) or the associative property ((3x2)x4 is the same as 3x(2x4)) during this lesson.
Tonight's homework is Lesson 22 Problem Set.
Since we won't meet for math class tomorrow due to the field trip, we will complete Lesson 22 Homework for homework tomorrow night. Our exit ticket will happen on Thursday for this lesson. Tonight's homework is to complete Lesson 21 Homework.
Tonight's homework is Lesson 20 homework. Studnets are working on showing division without remainders with an area model. This is useful because it allows us to develop our mental math skills.
Tonight's homework is to complete Lesson 19 Homework. Most students were able to complete this in class today. Enjoy the snow!
Tonight's homework is lesson 18 homework. This is a focus on the standard algorith. Below is a picture of the template I gave students to move through the standard algorithm. If students struggle with the standard algorithm, they should use place value blocks to support.
Tonight's homework is Lesson 17 Homework. We did the problem set on Friday which shows the relationship between the standard algorithm and the place value blocks. There will be at least one remainder of ten that students will have to decompose into ones to divide into the groups (divisor).
In class today, we began our second diagnostic i-Ready test. This shows us how much growth we have made since early September. I'll send home the i-Ready packet that details what your student can do and the next steps they should do to make growth. Just for perspective, a student needs to make 22 points of growth over the course of one school year. Tonight's homework is something students may struggle with - and that's okay. We just started working on division and this may be the first time they have seen the standard division algorithm. This means their Lesson 16 exit ticket score may be lower than you expect and may lower their current grade. Some words that we've been working on are: quotient (answer), divisor (number we are dividing quotient by), dividend (whole number to divide), remainder (what's left over).
Tonight's homework is Lesson 16 homework. Below is a picture of the expectation. |
