Tonight's homework is to complete all of Lesson 1 Homework. Although it is two pages, students had 15 minutes to work on it in class today. Students have 4 formulas to remember and apply; one for area (A=LxW) and three for perimeter (P=L+W+L+W P= 2L + 2W P=2 (L+W) ) Please help your child study these formulas and make sense of them. Students should use their problem set to help them with their homework.

We finished our test today and it looks like we did a great job! :)
Our homework tonight is Lesson 5 Sprint, both sides. Tonight's homework is to complete Lesson 4 Pattern Sheet. We will resume our end of module assessment tomorrow.
Tonight's homework is to solve problems 4-6 on Lesson 5 Problem Set. Students should also draw bar models for all the stories on Lesson 5 Homework as well as write the equation to solve for in each problem. We have our end of module assessment tomorrow.
Tonight's homework is to solve problems 1-3 on Lesson 5 Problem Set and only draw the bar models/tape diagrams for questions 4-6 on Lesson 5 Problem Set. In class we drew the tape diagrams and wrote equations for problems 1-3 on the problem set already. Students will have an end of module assessment on Wednesday.
Tonight's homework is only Lesson 4 Homework #1. Below are pictures from today's notes that the students should have also recorded. Students need help remembering units of length (centimeters, meters and kilometers), units of capacity (milliliters, liters) and units of mass (grams, kilograms).
Tonight's homework is to complete Lesson 3 Homework.
Day two of working on Lesson 2 so students should be feeling really good about it. Tonight's homework is lesson 2 Homework. This module is only 5 lessons long so our end of module assessment is after Lesson 5.
Student's worked on reviewing their tests in class today and helping others learn from their mistakes. They took some risks today, REACHed in and worked together. This deserves either a night off or a night of fun math games. :)
Since I was gone yesterday and my plans for a substitute fell through, we revisited Lesson 1 material today in class. Students also worked on this concept again in small groups. I collected the Problem Set from the students today in class and checked it over during lunch. Every student has something marked on their Problem Set to work on - I did this so students could be aware of mistakes made so they can learn from them. Students should have a better understanding of how to convert metric lengths after today's lesson.
Tomorrow's class will be slightly different in that we will use our peers to learn from and identify and admit mistakes we made on our tests we took last week. This will be a great opportunity to see that everyone has strengths and weaknesses and we can all learn from each other. |
